Port Credit/Spice Lounge Mix is mastered but just sampling before I upload!

ok, so I finally got time tonight to pull the set apart – expect 3 parts! As you can expect to hear, drunk people bumping my dj table so the needle skips(haha you’ll hear it), quicker transitions and a slow build to the climax. What a fun night as usual there, so if you’re around def check it out! I will be there LAST THURSDAY of EVERY MONTH!. Sit tight, I’ll spend tomorrow uploading it.

Unfortunately, Ableton actually failed on me and stopped recording ~ I know weird. So Part 1 and 2 at this point do continue but part 3 will be its own thing sort of.

Also, any one have recco’s on recording software? As the night progressed so did my output , I know some songs would have been in the red’s for sure, pardon the recording. I’ll figure out how to record a live set much better. Its not exactly a professional club.

Playing live tonight at Spice in Port Credit!

ok ok I know seriously last minute but… I’ll be dj’ing tonight at Spice in Port Credit. Goal = to record my set tonight and share it with all of you in the next day or 2. I’m going away this weekend, but if I don’t get the set uploaded by tomorrow night, you’ll have to wait till Monday. If you’re around Mississauga or Toronto and need something to do tonight, come by, I’ll be playing some solid new house tracks as well as mixing in some classics for good measure. What a week!

So I started at my new job this week and I can definitely say I am loving it! A lot to learn and the current pace of things is welcomed. I have fallen a little behind on some new music but good news for you all is that I managed to put some time yesterday to see what’s “hot”.

I have to hit the decks this week! It’s been far too long and I have to provide you all with my first mix of 2010! The tech house scene is pumping out some great stuff and I can’t wait to share it all with you. Be well, and I’ll post up the mix as soon as possible.

Here’s to 2010!

Where has the year gone? I find myself here every year, sitting, reflecting on the year(s) past and the lessons that I have learned. The people that I have laughed with, partied with, danced with, sat with, chatted with, drank with and felt with. It seems that as I continue to expand my musical interest and taste; I in turn expand my social network of new friends and people. I will always be a house DJ, I love making people dance through these addictive and seductive rhythms. 2010’s shaping up to be a great year for me; I’m starting a new job career at a design and strategy firm. I’m also going to have a residency at a lounge in Port Credit(hopefully leads to bigger things). Finally, looking forward to some great albums in the new year, some old and others new(Massive Attack, Groove Armada and a compilation by Fabric-Elevator Music).

I will post more content but I would love to see more feedback as well. I need to start utilizing the tools that WordPress offers better, I know this. Stay tuned, lets see if I can get a refresh to the site in with my new job and all.

Another design…

I’ve finished another design on the weekend. I have to admit I am enjoying putting these together. It’s become another creative outlet but I still love putting together mixes of course! I’ve also been in the process of designing some business cards to get this whole DJ thing off the ground. Any tips or advice is much appreciated! I am starting to take this all more seriously as you can see and last thing is I plan to get a proper domain and host my mixes on my own. Stick around, keep checking back and let me know if you’re reading this out there.

Logo Design!

I’ve been getting to work on some logo designs. If you have any advice or would like to submit one of your own let me know! Here is a few I have come up with that I am proud of and was looking for your input. Now I am a design and photography enthusist , and with little formal training, I think I did well with these. Well, let me know and I hope you like the direction I’m taking with these.

DJ Let Her K – Rime

Well I had a bunch of tracks left over from yesterdays mix. I ended up getting back on the decks several hours later, hit record and just started playing around. Here is the result, a set that goes back to my electro roots.

I finally got a chance to use DeadMau5’s Ghost N Stuff vocal mix and a few other tracks that have been sitting in the new pile for awhile.

Overall, I feel its def an upbeat mix with solid vocals to bat. I end with a tribute to a few of my friends who have been on my case about throwing in some Daft Punk and specifically something from the upcoming Tron Legacy soundtrack. I found a sample, it may not end up being called Fragile but that’s is how I found it.

Anyhow, expect a few minor updates to the blog, one being more content. I will start writing some editorials soon. I’m going to get back to providing a lot more content and reading material from my thoughts again. This should be a portal not only for great mixes but great content as well.
